Resources for Parents of Minor Racers

🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR RACE PARENTS! 🚨
Race parents, we can’t stress this enough—a fully executed (SIGNED BY BOTH PARENTS) minor release will be required for the 2026 race season! Per the AMA, minors will not be allowed to race without parental consent from both parents. This rule applies to all AMA-sanctioned events and will be strictly enforced.
✅ How to ensure your child can race:
✔️ Complete the AMA Annual Minor Release ahead of time.
✔️ If only one parent will be present at sign-up, you must have a fully executed AMA annual release. If both parents aren’t present, you may be asked to provide court paperwork granting sole custody.
🚨 If we cannot verify your annual release on the AMA website or you do not have the required parental consent, your minor will not be able to race 🚨
Don’t wait—click the image above and get it done today! 🏁🏆

🚨 IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS 🚨

The 2026 AMA Rulebook states in Section 1.1 A. General 9. And 3.1.A. General 10, “No rider under the legal age of majority in the state in which the meet takes place may compete without the written consent (signature on liability releases and entry forms) of their parents or legal guardians present at the meet. An authorized adult acting on behalf of the parents or legal guardians must provide a notarized statement indicating they have been given the authority by the parent or legal guardian to be responsible for the minor during the meet. The parents, legal guardians and/or authorized adult must remain present while the AMA member who they are responsible for is at the meet.”

If your child will be attending an event with someone who is not their custodial parent or legal guardian, they must have a fully executed annual release on file with the AMA AND a notarized consent form authorizing that individual to act as their temporary legal guardian.

✅ You are welcome to print and use the example form provided below.

⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: This form is ONLY valid for Iowa Moto Series sanctioned events and cannot be used for any other event.

Thank you for helping us ensure a smooth and safe experience for all riders! 🏁
